Biography

Actress and model Jolene Blalock was born on March 5, 1975 in San Diego, California. She began her career as a model, appearing in spreads and covers for numerous men’s magazines. At one point, she posed in a (clothed) shoot for Playboy and in two issues of Maxim. She also made occasional appearances on screen, making her debut as a bit player in an episode of Veronica’s Closet, and later as a guest on shows such as CSI and JAG. She grew into further prominence when she appeared as Medea in a television adaptation of Jason and the Argonauts in 2000.

Blalock became well known to audiences in 2001, when she joined the cast of the sci-fi series Star Trek: Enterprise. She appeared as T’Pol, a Vulcan commander assigned on the Enterprise, who was beleaguered throughout her assignment, especially with earning the trust of her fellow crew members. A Trekkie herself, she enjoyed working with the series, but was critical of the show in its third and fourth seasons because of what she thought was a lack of creativity among the producers and writers. She was part of the show until it folded up in 2005.

Blalock continued to receive projects after Star Trek: Enterprise ended its run, but she has yet to receive a regular gig like the one that made her famous. Apart from guest roles in Stargate SG-1, CSI: Miami and 10 Items or Less, she appeared in several films, including Slow Burn (notable for featuring her only nude scene to date, despite having posed provocatively in men’s magazines), Shadow Puppets and Starship Troopers 3: Marauder.
