John Ingle, who was born on May 7, 1928 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, is best known for his role as Edward Quartermaine on the ABC soap opera, General Hospital. He played this role from 1993 to 2003 and moved on to play Mickey Horton on another soap opera,
Days of Our Lives . He also made an appearance in
Big Love and in 2006, reappeared in General Hospital, reprising his role as Edward. From 1964 to 1984, he worked as a drama teacher at Beverly Hills High School, where one of his pupils were Oscar-winning actor Nicolas Cage.
Edward Quartermaine is played by John Ingle on the soap opera General Hospital. As the CEO and principal of ELQ Enterprises, Edward is one of the wealthiest people in Port Charles. He has many health issues, such as multiple heart attacks, a bout of amnesia and a stroke. He has been married twice, first to Heather Webber and later to Lila Morgan, with whom he has two children with. He also fathered two other children with two different women.
