Jean-Robert Bellande was a member of the Fei Long tribe and after losing individual immunity was voted off by a vote of 5-3-1. He became the second member of the jury. Bellande was generally disliked by his tribe mates, especially Courtney Yates.
Exclusive Interview: Jean-Robert Bellande Jean-Robert Bellande appears as a contestant on the 15th season of the hit CBS reality television series, Survivor: China. He was born on Sept. 17, 1970 to a family of Haitian descent. He is originally a native of the Big Apple, hailing from Long Island in New York, though he presently lives in Las Vegas, Nevada. Both his parents spoke French, and he was brought up in Asia. He makes a living as a professional poker player, having appeared on nationally televised tournaments such as the 2005 Rio Circuit Event, the 2005 U.S. Poker Championship, Ballbreakers 2005, and the 2005 World Poker Tournament’s “Bad Boys of Poker.” In 2005, he was ranked as the world’s top sixth best card player.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Azusa Pacific University, and he originally worked as a promoter for a number of Los Angeles nightclubs. Among these were the Roxbury, Tatou of Beverly Hills, and the Gate. He also opened his own nightclub in Hollywood, named Sky Sushi, which he operated for half a decade. He says that his proudest achievement was making it to the final table of the World Series Of Poker (WSOP) Circuit Event, wherein he won more than $200,000. His total earnings from tournaments have reached more than $700,000.
