Born on May 25, 1970 in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania, Jamie Kennedy is an American comedian and actor. He studied at Monsignor Bonner High School and graduated in 1988. He trained in acting while in college, and began his career in Hollywood as an extra, as well as doing voice impersonations.
Jamie Kennedy landed his breakthrough film role in the Scream trilogy, which was first released in 1996. He then appeared in Bongwater and Coax in 1997, before landing the role of Luke Canby in the TV movie On the Edge of Innocence. In 1997, while filming Scream 2, Jamie Kennedy was given minor roles in films like Clockwatchers, Sparkler, and As Good as It Gets. He won a Blockbuster Award for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of Randy Meeks in Scream 2. The next year, he played George Gordon Flynn in the drama Starstruck, and was also in The Pass and Enemy of the State. He also landed roles in Bowfinger and The Debtors in 1999, before being offered the lead role of Brad in 2000’s Road to Flin Flon. That year, he reprised his role in Scream 3, as well as being cast in Boiler Room, Bait and The Specials.
Kennedy is best known for his performances on his television reality show The Jamie Kennedy Experiment, which became the WB Network’s highest ranking new show in 2002. The next year, he was given the role of B-Rad Gluckman in the comedy Malibu’s Most Wanted. This was followed by the MTV show Blowin’ Up, which he co-wrote. He has also voiced the character Dr. Tim Rast in two episodes of the animated series King of the Hill and also played Tim Avery in 2005’s Son of the Mask.
He has also formed a production company called Wannabe Producers, producing the shows The Jamie Kennedy Experiment, Blowin’ Up, and also WB shows like The Starlet and Living with Fran.
