American actor James Lesure was born in Los Angeles, California on September 21, 1975. Lesure is a familiar face in television, with numerous guest appearances on popular shows. The athletic adventurer is known for his service n the Air Force Academy before attending the University of Southern California. There, he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre. He has also studied abroad at the University of Kent in Canterbury, England and performed in productions of Hair and The Island. Another credit to his name is his membership to a professional theatre company in Los Angeles that allowed him to play the role of MacDuff in a production of Shakespeare’s Macbeth.
James Lesure became known to TV viewers for his performance in shows like Alias, Seinfeld, The Drew Carey Show and NYPD Blue. He began his career with small roles in Mad About You, Diagnosis Murder, Seinfeld and an episode of Saved by the Bell: The New Class. The actor also made a short cameo appearance in the horror flick, The Ring 2 alongside stars like Naomi Watts, Simon Baker, David Dorfman and Elizabeth Perkins. Lesure is best known for his role as engineering graduate Mike Cannon on the NBC drama series Las Vegas. Lesure also has recurring roles on series like The Division, but gained TV fame for playing Mel Ellis in For Your Love. He has also been given a guest spot on the award-winning J.J Abrams series Lost, and had a notable turn for playing a military officer on the acclaimed Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip series. Lesure’s film credits include the indie romantic movie, Loveless in Los Angeles, which stars Brittany Daniel. He was also seen in 2006’s short, The Package.
