Zoe Tapper hails from Bromley, Kent and is a product of both the Academy Drama School and the Central School of Speech and Drama. She graduated from the latter in the spring of 2003, just mere days before appearing in her first movie. She made her feature film debut in the award-winning period flick, Stage Beauty, alongside Claire Danes, Billy Crudup and Rupert Everett. Onstage, Tapper has been in several productions including Shakespearean classics like Richard II, As You Like It and Othello as well as the television adaptation of A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
On television, Zoe Tapper has been seen on several shows. In 2003, she played Jane on the telefilm The Private Life of Samuel Pepys and was later seen on an episode of Cutting It. In 2004, she was seen portraying the character Gemma on the BBC cult show Hex. Her character is that of a clueless beauty, who is easy-going and the apple of her father’s eye. Tapper was later seen on Twenty Thousand Streets Under the Sky, before getting a role in the Jericho episode “The Hollow Men.” She also worked on the award-winning feature film Mrs. Palfrey at the Claremont, a dramatic comedy directed by Dan Ireland. In 2006, she got cast in another film titled These Foolish Things. This enabled her to work with Angelica Huston, Andrew Lincoln, David Leon and Terence Stamp. Her other appearances were on episodes of Foyle’s War and Hotel Babylon. She also had a starring role as Mary Collins in Channel 4’s A Harlot’s Progress. Tapper was later given the role of Kay Strange in Marple: Towards Zero. In 2008, she got cast as Mina Harker in the series The Last Van Helsing. That year, she appeared as Sheila Steafel in the 2008 BBC television play, The Curse of Steptoe. She later signed on for parts in Affinity, Small Dark Places, and The Grind.

Zoe has one brother.
Her Father worked first as a wine buyer for Sainsbury's and then went on to be an advisor for the National Farmer's Union.
Her mother (Yvonne Tapper) isthe Vice-Principal of a Further Education Centre and comes from Grimsby.
Zoe married actor Oliver Dimsdale on December 30th 2008.
