Biography

Actor, writer and comedian Will Forte was born in Alameda County in California on June 17, 1970 as Orville Willis Forte IV. He was raised in Lafayette and graduated from Acalanes High School, before obtaining his history degree from UCLA. He is best known for his work on Saturday Night Live, which he joined in 2002. Despite his popularity on the sketch-comedy show, he has worked on other projects as well.

Getting his start in the entertainment industry, Will Forte became a member of The Groundlings. Soon, he found himself writing and producing several television series, including Late Show with David Letterman, 3rd Rock from the Sun, Action and That ‘70s Show. He has also voiced a character in the short-lived but acclaimed series Clone High, in addition to work on Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Drawn Together and American Dad! He even played a radio host in the video game Grand Theft Auto IV.

On Saturday Night Live, Forte rose to fame for his impressions of George W. Bush, Macaulay Culkin, Drake Bell, Bruce Jenner, Nick Lachey, Bruce Springsteen, Chad Michael Murray and even Kermit the Frog. Some of the characters he has portrayed are receptionist Andy and the fictional political candidate Tim Calhoun.

Forte has also been known for writing and starring in the film The Brothers Solomon. Other appearances of his include those in HBO’s Flight of the Conchords, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and CBS’ How I Met Your Mother. Forte has a recurring guest role in the Adult Swim comedy Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! as well. He has also been slated to work with John Krasinski for Brief Interviews with Hideous Men and with Saturday Night Live cast-mate Andy Samberg for Parental Guidance Suggested. In 2009, he became a regular voice character on the series Sit Down, Shut Up as Vice Principal Stuart Proszakian.
