Born on March 28, 1970 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Vince Vaughn is an American film actor. He was raised in Lake Forest, Illinois and graduated from Lake Forest High School in 1988. At a young age, his interest in theater already developed and he decided to accept a role in a Chevrolet commercial. In 1987, he decided to become an actor after being in a car accident that decreased his chances of being an athlete. He subsequently moved to Hollywood to pursue his acting career.
Vince Vaughn first had a minor role in a 1989 episode of China Beach, before appearing as Bill Peterson on 21 Jump Street. He was rejected several times and struggled as an actor. He landed his first film role in the 1993 Rudy, and eventually gained popularity playing Trent Walker in Swingers in 1996. This was followed by being cast by director Steven Spielberg in the blockbuster hit The Lost World: Jurassic Park. This was followed by a role in The Locusts and Return to Paradise. He then accepted the role of Norman Bates in the remake of the Alfred Hitch!$#!# film Psycho.
Vaughn next appeared opposite Jennifer Lopez in the 2000 sci-fi thriller The Cell, as well as starring in Made. He was then cast in the directorial debut movie of Dwight Yoakam, South of Heaven, West of Hell. In 2003, Vaughn achieved more fame appearing in the comedy Old School. The next year, he played alongside Ben Stiller in the hit films Starsky & Hutch and Dodgeball. In 2005, he was given the role of Raji in Be Cool and Eddie in Mr. & Mrs. Smith. He next starred alongside Owen Wilson in the comedy Wedding Crashers. Vince Vaughn was then dubbed part of Hollywood’s Frat Pack, a group of actors who often co-star in film comedies. His next film became The Break-Up with Jennifer Aniston. Vaughn also appeared in 2007’s Fred Claus, and shifted his career towards drama in Sean Penn’s critically acclaimed Into the Wild. Vaughn was given the role of Wayne Westerberg, and was cast opposite Emile Hirsch who played McCandless.
