Born in Ottawa, Canada, Vik Sahay took up theater at the Concordia University in Montreal. He got his first break in the Canadian sketch show You Can't Do That on Television, appearing as a regular from 1986 to 1987.
Many of Sahay's early acting roles were on Canadian television shows. After joining the cast of Radio Active, he appeared in the acclaimed comedy Our Hero, which earned him a Canadian Comedy Award nomination in 2002. He later earned a recurring role in the CBC series This is Wonderland.
Sahay is perhaps best known for his role in the NBC series Chuck, as slinky Nerd Herd member (and Jeffster! member) Lester Patel. The popularity of the series earned him a break in the American scene, notably in the Rainn Wilson film The Rocker.
