Tyler Francavilla

Biography

Actor Tyler Andrew Francavilla has been making a name for himself on television, continuing his developing interest in acting. Born in Baldwin, New York on Long Island, he grew up with his father, a project manager for a display company, and his mother, an artist who became one of his greatest influences. It was in fifth grade that his passion for performing was sparked, when he was chosen to play a simple coat rack in church. Even though he didn’t get any lines, he remembered the feeling of standing there and receiving applause. As he went through high school, he took an acting class and was spotted by a talent scout who soon became his manager. After school, he went to auditions and got his first professional job appearing in a Payless shoe store TV commercial that featured NBA great Hakeem Olajuwon.

Francavilla attended Marymount Manhattan College and studied theater for one year until he booked a role in a television series. It was in the year 2000 that he played Zeke Allen on the Nickelodeon show Noah Knows Best. This required him to live in Orlando, Florida but he headed to Los Angeles instead when the series wrapped up. He continued to look for more jobs, landing roles in Paranormal Girl and two episodes of Boston Public. In 2003, he was seen on Touched by an Angel, and played Tim Brennan on Happy Family. Two years later, Francavilla was seen on the series Head Cases, and later on the comedy Bickford Shmeckler’s Cool Ideas. He also has two episodes of Law & Order to his credit. In 2008, he was chosen to play the lead character on the ABC Family Channel series Roommates. His role is that of Mark, a struggling actor who runs into his high-school crush and moves in with her. Francavilla was also seen on NBC’s American Dreams, and films like Me and the Moilsies, Mr. Zimzor, and Speed for Thespians.
