Professional wrestler Torrie Wilson was born July 24, 1975 in Boise, Idaho but grew up in McCall. In school, she was active in many co-curricular activities like cheerleading, dancing and track and field. When she was on her sophomore year in high school, she became interested in modeling. Her mother supported her and together, they went around visiting agencies but Wilson was told to lose weight. In her attempts to lose weight, she suffered from anorexia and bulimia from the time she was 14 years old until she was 20.
When she recovered, Wilson became active in fitness competitions and won several of them including the Ms. Galaxy Florida in 1998. She also won first place in the Grace and Physique round of the 1998 Women's Tri-Fitness Championships. In the same year, she left Idaho and moved to Los Angeles in the hopes of pursuing a career in acting. She was able to get an agent and she did some small projects, too.
Wilson's exposure to the WCW started when her boyfriend invited her to watch a house show. Although it was her first time to attend such an event, she was immediately asked by wrestler Scott Steiner to escort him to the ring. That event became her door to the wrestling world as she eventually signed with WCW and worked as a valet for David Flair in 1998. In 2000, she left the company after having some problems with the management.
When WCW got purchased by the WWF, Wilson was called in by Vince McMahon and she became active on the wrestling world again. She appeared on The Invasion and was also part of the all-female stable called Vince's Devils. Wilson was also featured as cover girl in magazines FHM and Playboy. She later joined the reality series I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! in 2009, and emerged as the runner-up that season.
