Born on August 20, 1977 in Germany, Tiffani Faison rose to fame as one of the two finalists of Bravo's Top Chef. She was raised by her American parents in various parts of the United States, leading her to become somewhat of a self-described army brat".
In 2001, she started out working as a bartender at Lucky's Lounge. She followed this up by working at the Ritz Carlton Boston Common, but her job as the Backlot's Food and Beverage Director didn't work out. She then took on the position of busser at Todd's English Bonfire and the next year, she enrolled herself at Cambridge Culinary Institute.
Soon, Tiffani Faison was hired at Perdix on Tremont Street in the South End of Boston. She continued to gain experience in the industry, even becoming chef de partie under Daniel Bouloud. This gave her the chance to work at his Michelin Star restaurant in the Wynn Las Vegas and even in the Tao restaurant at The Venetian.
It wasn't long before Tiffani Faison became part of Bravo's hit series Top Chef. She finished in sceond place during her time, and even appeared in a single episode cooking competition called 4 Star All Stars. That 2007 stint reunited her with four of her fellow season one contestants, as well as going against four chefs from season two. Faison's team emerged victorious and received a $20,000 donation to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure charity.
After her time on Top Chef, Faison accepted a summer position cooking at the Straight Wharf restaurant in Nantucket, Massachusetts. She later became the executive chef at Todd English's brasserie, Riche, in New Orleans, Louisiana. Another accolade of hers includes cohosting a Greek Isles culinary cruise for Olivia, a lesbian lifestyle and travel services company.
The chef returned to television in December 2007, participating in the Top Chef holiday special. Afterwards, she went to work as the Executive Chef at Rocca Kitchen & Bar. However, it closed in December 2010. She appeared on Top Chef's 8th season later on, but was eliminated in the sixth episode. Since then, she made plans to open her own restaurant, together with her fiancee Kelly.
