American actor Thomas Guiry was born on October 12, 1981 in Trenton, New Jersey. He began his acting career at age 11, playing the lead role of Scotty Smalls in the children’s baseball film The Sandlot. This was followed by other films such as Lassie, The Last Home Run, Wrestling with Alligators and U-571. During this time, he also studied at the Notre Dame High School in Lawrenceville, New Jersey.

Guiry continued to play roles in films such as Scotland, Pa., Black Hawk Down, Mystic River, Strangers with Candy and Prisoner. His first television role came in 2002, when he guest starred in an episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit; he would go on to play guest roles in the other two series in the Law & Order franchise. In 2007, he got his first regular television role, joining the cast of the ensemble drama The Black Donnellys. He played the role of Jimmy Donnelly, the oldest of the brothers, who is known for his many wrong decisions. Because of his, the second eldest, Tommy (Jonathan Tucker), has assumed the leadership of the brothers and it has strained their relationship.
