The Click Five are a powerpop band based in Boston, MA. All five members of the band attended the prestigious Berklee School of Music, where the first incarnation of the band (then called: The Click) was formed. The band played their first concert in July 2004 at the KISS 108 FM Hatschell Concert on The Charles River. Led by former lead singer Eric Dell, the band was courted by a number of major record labels to record their debut album. The band was scouted by Epic Records, before signing in Fall 2004 with Lava Records a subsidiary of Atlantic Records.
The band moved in together to a home on Imrie Road, where they took the inspiration for the name of their debut album--Imrie House. The album was recorded by Andy Karp at QDivision Studios with help from veteran producer Mike Denneen, who'd previously produced successful artists like Aimee Mann. Following the completion of the album, The Click Five began their first national tour first playing smaller venues around their hometown of Boston before venturing out to larger venues across North America. In the summer of 2005, the band released their first single and video for their song "Just The Girl." The band filmed the video in homage to the Beatles, "Hard Days Night" and it enjoyed rotation on MTV, VH1 and other music programs. The band ended up being so successful, they toured the United States for 9 straight months before beginning a tour of Asia in 2006. The band's tour in Asia found them playing to audiences in Singapore, Malaysia, and Japan. That autumn, Click Five toured the UK with boy band McFly.
In late 2006, the band's original lead singer Eric Dill left the band to pursue a solo career. In early 2007, the remaining members of the group--Joe Guese, Ethan Mentzer, Ben Romans, and Joey Zehr--began searching for a replacement for Eric Dill and settled on another Berklee Music student, Kyle Patrick. With Patrick as their new lead singer, the band went back into the studio to record their second full length album, "Modern Minds and Pastimes." The album was released on June 26th, 2007 and was followed by a small North American Tour. In the fall of 2007, the band returned to Asia for a large tour, playing to significantly larger crowds. At the end of 2007, the band was named the "Band of The Year" by 987FM (Singapore). The band continued touring throughout 2008, and most recently was named the "Knockout Award" at the MTV Asia Awards.
