For more than a decade, this crew from Fullerton, California has been going strong. Team Millennia holds annual auditions, which is how founder Danny Batimana handpicked its current seven performers. Having danced together for four years, its members later “grew into a family with a strong bond.” Team Millennia is based on its own studio, Under the Bridge, where it rehearses and even holds workshops to serve the youth and the community. It’s also the place where the crew keeps its numerous trophies, as they’ve won top honors in more than 20 competitions like Battlefest, Fusion and World of Dance.
It’s no surprise that it’s difficult for Team Millennia to choose their favorite dance music. Their style covers Aaliyah, Ginuwine and Timbaland to Ne-Yo, Usher, Janet Jackson and Rihanna or practically anything they can groove to. Its members are Jed Florano aka Jeddy Boy. Alexis Avica, Chantha Mao, Jason Lim, Jun Quemado, Jeff Viray and Kristine Bueta aka Wobz.
Despite not making the cut when they auditioned last season, Team Millennia is out to prove itself this time as they compete for the title of America’s Best Dance Crew. Joining eight other teams, the group is all set to show off their amazing and intricate moves in front of the whole country. With host Mario Lopez and backstage correspondent Layla Kayleigh, the crews will have to impress judges JC Chasez, Lil Mama and choreographer Shane Sparks. Encountering challenges week after week, each team battles for the $100,000 cash prize, but more for the pride of being the nation’s best.
