Fifteen-year-old Taylor is a sophomore who switches from being the usual fast-paced, wealthy Upper East Sider and leading her public school entourage. For her, her hopes of someday snagging a rich husband is an open secret. As for most kids in New York City, she is under an intense academic pressure, but she still finds the time for extra-curriculars, including her school’s gymnastics and roller hockey teams. She is also enrolled at the prestigious pre-professional STEPS dance program six days a week. She has a keen interest in politics and is a regular in student-led demonstrations in Union Square. As far as relationships are concerned, she’s a self-confessed failure.
Taylor is one of the six privileged teenagers who are the focus of the Bravo reality show NYC Prep. The series follows the lives of so-called key players in Manhattan’s elite high school scene. Such a life can be disorienting, as it involves exclusive midnight parties, shopping sprees, and study dates. Viewers will get to know the prep’s families, their entourage, and the their guys/girls at the moment.
