American child actress Taylor Atelian was born on March 27, 1995 in Santa Barbara, California. Trained in ballet, jazz, and tap dance, she has attended the Rudenko School of Dance in her hometown, and has appeared in numerous productions staged at the Lobero Theater, also in her hometown. She’s also performed in local productions such as Alice in Wonderland, Pinocchio and Babes in Toyland.
Atelian has also branched into television. In 2001, she joined the cast of the comedy According to Jim, as the precocious and spirited Ruby, the first child of Jim (Jim Belushi) and Cheryl (Courtney Thorne-Smith). Her portrayal in the show has led to six nominations for a Young Artist Award; she started her haul in 2002, and was nominated in all but one of the following years.
She still keeps up with her other interests; for one, she’s started to dance competitively. She’s also appeared in the music video for “Celebrity,” a song by country star Brad Paisley, who is married to her co-star Kimberly Williams-Paisley. She’s also recently starred in the short film First in Ten, which is based on the true story of the first girl allowed to play in the Youth Football League.
