Tamara Tunie is an actress who has notably appeared on several detective crime dramas. A graduate of Carnegie Mellon University, she first appeared on the TV series Spenser: For Hire before landing the role of Jessica Griffin on the soap opera As the World Turns, which earned her an Image Award nomination for Outstanding Actress in a Daytime Drama Series in 2003 and 2004, as well as a Soap Opera Digest Award nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in 1995 and 2003.
In 2000, Tunie was cast as medical examiner Melinda Warner on Law & Order: SVU. She also played Alberta Green on 24 and Lillian Fancy on NYPD Blue. On the big screen, she is credited for her work in The Devil's Advocate, Snake Eyes, Rising Sun and Eve's Bayou, where she served as the narrator.
