Tamara Taylor got her big break in 1996, when she earned a recurring role on the third season of the acclaimed drama Party of Five. She later scored a recurring stint in another drama series, City of Angels. In 2002 she joined the cast of the short-lived comedy, Hidden Hills. In between she made her film debut, in 1998's Senseless, and appeared in numerous TV movies.
In 2005, she appeared on the ABC hit Lost, appearing as the former wife of Harold Perrineau's Walt Dawson. The same year, she had a brief role in Serenity, the film conclusion to Joss Whedon's series Firefly. That led her to an audition with David Boreanaz: the end result was a role in the Fox series Bones. Her character, forensic division head Camille Saroyan, was supposed to run for only six episodes, but positive fan response led producers to promote her to series regular.
