Steve “Schliz” Schleinitz is a contestant appearing in the new TV Guide network reality show, America’s Next Producer. Born on January 13, 1978, he originally came from Los Angeles and presently resides in its local Koreatown. Steve also studied and trained with the United States Marine Corp., and says that his favorite entertainment genres to produce are horror and action. He also states that what he loves most about being a producer is the passion that comes with creating something, and that among the most important things every aspiring producer should know are the technical aspects, such as learning how to shoot, edit and work with sound.
On the other hand, Steve belittles what he calls “fake-ass people” in the industry. He says that his must-have production tools are a laptop with editing equipment, and a camera. Among his recent favorite onscreen works are the television shows Intervention and
Nip/Tuck , and the film The Departed. His favorite director is Robert Rodriguez, while he considers Quentin Tarantino to be one the most innovative producers today. Steve believes that the industry’s top producer at the moment is Jerry Bruckheimer, and that if he could pick just one person to work with, it would be Bruckheimer.
