Stephanie Edwards Biography:
20-year old Stephanie Edwards has already had a taste of fame from her appearance on It’s Showtime at the Apollo, but now she is back for more. Stephanie is the second youngest female in the Top 24 of American Idol
, season 6. She is from Savannah, Georgia but in order to audition, she took a trip to Memphis. Stephanie was only about 2 or 3 years old when she started talking and singing. In 2005, she won the title of “Savannah Star.” She has never lost any competition she has joined. She names Justin Timberlake and Beyonce Knowles as her favorites.
During her stint on the sixth season of American Idol, Stephanie Edwards was praised for her rendition of “How Come U Don't Call Me Anymore,” by Prince and "Sweet Thing" by Rufus, which the judges deemed as nearly flawless. She made it into the Top 12 and despite forgetting the lyrics at one point during her performance of “Love Hangover” by Diana Ross, she secured herself a spot in the Top 11. Unfortunately, she was voted off the show on March 21, 2007, making her the 11th place finalist of season 6.
Following American Idol, Stephanie Edwards recorded a charity single called “On Our Way,” which was released in October 2007 as a CD on eBay. Sales from the CD benefited the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Light the Night Walk Campaign.
