Stella Zotis has been much sought-after by some of rock and roll’s elite, and will be more so after landing a spot on the reality series Project Runway. The self-taught New Yorker worked as a punk rock makeup artist before earning a reputation as a leather and denim guru. The New York City lifestyle has heavily influenced Stella’s designs, and she admits to having a strong work ethic and a “no bull” mantra.
Believing that a vest is a fashion must, Stella has designed for people she describes as tough enough to wear her styles. She describes herself as funny and blunt, in addition to being caring and outgoing. She finds inspiration in Vivienne Westwood, Alexander McQueen and Balenciaga. Stella’s best fashion advice lies in being unique and not blending in. She also believes in not letting your clothes wear you.
On the show, she made quite an impact. Despite her high scores, she was unable to win a challenge and was eliminated on episode 8 of the series. Since leaving the show, she has gained much success and even debuted her Couture fashion line on the 2010 NYC Fashion Week Runway.
