American actress Spencer Grammer was born on August 9, 1984. The oldest child of Emmy Award-winning actor Kelsey Grammer and dance instructor Doreen Alderman, she has worked on several television series and movies. She got into acting at a young age, appearing as a toddler on the popular show, Cheers, alongside her father. Even though she expressed a passion for the performing arts, she originally wanted to become a zoologist. Growing up in the realm of show business, she learned a few tricks of the trade and eventually got cast in numerous productions.
Spencer Grammer made her professional acting debut in the 2000 thriller Sweetie Pie, by K. Asher Levin. It enabled her to work alongside Cisco Adler, Paris Hilton, Jake Hoffman, Sarah Howard and Courtenay Semel. Grammer then landed a more substantial role, when she got cast in several episodes of the series Clubhouse. She later made appearances in Jonny Zero, Third Watch, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and The Bedford Diaries. In 2006, she participated in the short romantic film The Path of Most Resistance, and worked on the series Six Degrees. Executive produced by J.J. Abrams, the show starred Jay Hernandez, Bridget Moynahan, Erika Christensen, and Dorian Missick.
Grammer later became known for being the third actress to portray the character Dr. Lucy Montgomery on the soap opera As the World Turns. Her daytime debut in May 2006 ended in December that year. After leaving the show, she auditioned for the ABC Family college-based TV series Greek. She joined the cast as the character Casey Cartwright, a highly competitive sorority girl who will do what it takes to gain power. Grammer has also been seen on the 2007 thriller Descent, starring Rosario Dawson. On commercials, she worked for MTV and Kodak and has appeared as a dancer in 2003’s Learn to Hip-Hop video.
