Sophia Fresh is an American R&B/hip hop trio. The group is made up of members Skye, Crystal, and Cole Rose, and they chose the name “Sophia Fresh” to reflect their Southern flavor and fresh vocal talents. The group’s executive producer is none other than Grammy-winning, multi-platinum producer/songwriter T-Pain, who took the group under his wing with Atlantic Records to produce their debut album. The members of Sophia Fresh have all been involved in musical entertainment since they were young girls. Before forming Sophia Fresh, Crystal was the captain of the Houston Texans cheerleading squad, while in 2005 Skye and Cole Rose were previously signed to their first record deal with J Records through Underdog Entertainment. The deal fell apart before Skye and Cole Rose could release an album. Sophia Fresh released their first official single, “What It Is,” in 2008, and the song features none other than hip hop mogul Kanye West. Thheir debut album is still in production, but Sophia Fresh has also released the track “Superbad,” featuring T-Pain and Cee-Lo Green.
