Admittedly a perfectionist, Shayna Goldstein originally comes from Denver, Colorado. She pursued her dreams of stardom by attending Denver School for the Arts. With a wide range of interests from acting to snowboarding, Shayna says that she also likes singing, dancing, drawing and writing her own music. She thanks her parents for their support, even letting audiences know that they turned their basement into a studio for her. Her singing voice can be attributed to her father, who is a cantor. She chose to sing “Put Your Records On” by Corrine Bailey Ray and won the judges over.
Other than her acoustic performance, it was the tone of Shayna Goldstein’s voice that impressed the judges. She was soon chosen as one of the 12 finalists for the ABC reality series High School Musical: Get in the Picture. Hosted by actor and musician Nick Lachey, the series follows the efforts of the teenage contestants to win the ultimate prize for a High School Musical fan. The winner will get to star in his or her own music video featured in the end credits of High School Musical 3: Senior Year, and receive a chance to have a recording contract for two singles with Walt Disney Records.
