Rudy Boesch Biography:

Born on January 20, 1928 and currently a resident of Virginia Beach, Rudy Boesch is a retired US Navy Seal Team leader who dedicated 45 years of his life in service. He was deployed in Vietnam for two years and was given a Bronze Star Medal for all of the years he spent in combat. He left the US Navy in August 1, 1990 as a Master Chief Petty Officer. One of his greatest achievements as an officer is receiving the Defense Superior Service Medal, a recognition that is not frequently bestowed upon an enlisted individual. After his stint on Survivor: Borneo, he was given the opportunity to host a reality series called Combat Missions. Boesch has also completed and published his own book, The Book of Rudy. He is married with three children.

At the age of 72, Boesch was the oldest competitor in Survivor: Borneo. Despite his age, he was able to make it all the way to the Final 3, but was voted out when he dropped the immunity idol during the final immunity challenge. Boesch returned to the show for Survivor: All-Stars, but was eliminated by his fellow Saboga tribe members on Day 6 after he suffered a foot injury.
