American actor and musician Ronn Moss was born on March 4, 1952 in Los Angeles, California. Initially inclined towards music, he learned how to play the drums, guitar and electric bass at 11 years old. He eventually joined forces with Peter Beckett, J.C. Crowley and John Friesen to form the group Player; he was the band’s bassist. The group is best known for their song “Baby Come Back,” which hit the top spot in the Billboard Hot 100 in 1978.
Moss barely acted through his success as a musician. He took occasional television roles in the early 1980s, playing small roles in some movies such as Hot Child in the City and Hard Ticket to Hawaii. In 1987, he was offered a position in the daytime soap The Bold and the Beautiful. He is one of the soap’s original cast members, and continues to play the role of Ridge Forrester to this day. The eldest son of Stephanie Forrester (Susan Flannery) and Massimo Marone (Joseph Mascolo), he was the favorite among the Forrester children, as he is seen to have inherited his mother’s strength and his stepfather Eric’s (John McCook) talent, despite being somebody else’s son. He worked his way up the family business, Forrester Creations, and at one point worked for its rival, Spectra Fashions. He received six Soap Opera Digest Award nominations throughout his run in the show.
