Robert Patrick Benedict was born on September 21, 1970 in Columbia, Missouri and graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in Performance Studies. He is best known as Felicity Porter’s dorm mate, Richard Coad, in the coming-of-age series, Felicity. Aside from acting, Benedict is also the front man and guitar player of the Louden Swain band which is based in Los Angeles.
Richard Coad, played by Robert Benedict on Felicity, is Noel Crane’s enterprising and somewhat annoying advisee at Kelvin Hall. He once operated a hand modeling agency out of his dorm room and got himself elected as student body president by promising free pizza and town hall meeting Fridays. Although he once blackmailed Noel about his relationship with Felicity, they have since overcome their differences and become really good friends.
