Reginald Noble, a.k.a. “Redman,” appears as one of the rapper mentors in the MTV reality television competition series Celebrity Rap Superstar. His celebrity apprentice on the show is Jamal Anderson
. He is an American actor and rapper who was born on April 17, 1970 in Newark, New Jersey. Noble became well-known during the early 90s as an artist from the Def Jam label, and worked for a variety of media types. His debut album titled Whut? Thee Album was noted for mixing together tensely fluid rap with funk and reggae sound. He was also named “Rap Artist of the Year” by the Source magazine, and later on followed up with his albums Dare Iz a Darkside and Muddy Waters.
He has been criticized and praised by the likes of Rolling Stone and All Music Guide for his songs’ off-beat verses, strong lyrics and smart metaphors. His musical style has also been observed to remain consistent and similar all throughout, almost never deviating from his established style of wit and beats influenced by P-Funk. Noble has collaborated with the likes of Christina Aguilera, De La Soul, and Def Squad. He has also worked on the video games True Crime: New York City, Def Jam: Fight for NY, and NBA 2K6.
