Biography

American actress Portia Reiners was born on March 8, 1990 as Portia Sullivan Reiners. Named after the character in Shakespeare’s The Merchant of Venice, she started acting when she was only seven years old, playing the lead role of Oliver Twist in a production of Oliver. Her mother, an actress, encouraged her to do well in performances and the girl rose to fame eventually. She continued to act in theater, portraying a variety of characters on the stage. Three years later, she was signed on to Abrams Artists Agency.

That same year, Portia Reiners made her debut television appearance as the autistic Lily Benton Montgomery on the series All My Children. This was in 2006, when she stepped in for the actress Leven Rambin. Reiners continued her acting career, building up her resume with numerous performances. She later appeared in the play More Lies About Jerzy, portraying the character Kasia opposite Jared Harris. Her other stage credit is playing Jenny Littov in Wendy Kesselman’s The Notebook at The McGinn and Cazale.

When her stint on All My Children ended, Reiners booked a role in the soap opera, As the World Turns. She was cast as Ada Dunne in more than ten episodes. Before that, she was seen in the TV production, Iron Jawed Angels and as a guest star on Law & Order: Criminal Intent. In 2007, she was cast as Cathy Cassady in the biographical drama, Neal Cassady. The Noah Buschel film enabled Reiners to work alongside Tate Donovan, Amy Ryan, Glenn Fitzgerald, Chris Bauer, Hannah Hall, and Josh Hamilton. Reiners later joined the cast of the ABC soap opera, One Life to Live. Her character is that of Britney Jennings, the popular figure in Llanview High School who bullies the character Starr Manning. Portia Reiners is also known for being proficient in Russian, British and Polish accents.
