This Indian-born comedian had his first shot as a stand-up comedian back when he was eleven years old. He stood at the top of an elephant and entertained thousands of beaters hunting a man-eating tiger in a forest in Central India. He believes that he got his comic talent from his father, who always had a funny thing to say to everyone. His influences in comedy are Tinkle (India), Amar Chitra Katha (India), Archie's Double Digest, and Superman (DC Comics). Papa CJ also enjoys watching Two and a Half Men, Chitraha (Hindi), Scent of a Woman, Taare Zamein Par (Hindi), and Kuttey Kameeney (Punjabi).
Papa CJ became known as one of the finalists of the Last Comic Standing, a reality talent show on NBC searching for the funniest and wackiest stand-up comedian in the country. The winner shall receive a contract with NBC Universal and a Bravo Special. He made it to the Top 10, and has since performed for the Just for Laughs festival in Canada. He also toured India, where he searched for new comics and offered them training.
