Actor Omid Djalili was born on September 30, 1965 in Chelsea, London. His parents are both Iranian Bahá'í. He attended Holland Park School before enrolling in the Universiter of Ulster in Ireland. There, he took up English and Theatre Studies and developed his passion in acting and stand-up comedy.

In 1995, he started performing at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Due to his success, he toured around Australia, Germany, Ireland, Denmark and Canada. He soon made his way to the United States, where he landed his own HBO special. He even appeared on the NBC sitcom Whoopi. He has also appeared in numerous films like The Mummy, Notting Hill and 1999's The World Is Not Enough. He was also in Gladiator and Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, and even voiced Tiger in the animated film Over the Hedge.

On television, he has been seen in shows like Have I Got News for You and Never Mind the Buzzcocks. In 2007, The Omid Djalili Show premiered. He continued his career, and eventually won several awards for his work. Soon enough, he landed a role in the NBC comedy The Paul Reiser Show. He also appeared in Pirates of hte Caribbean: At World's End, The Love Gury and Sex and the City 2.
