Born on July 3, 1980 in Oklahoma, Lisa Olivia Munn is a comedic actress, model and author. Her mother is Chinese while her father is German-Irish. As a child she relocated several times with her family because her stepfather belonged to the United States Air Force. She was then raised in Tokyo, Japan and appeared in a number of local theater productions there, in addition to taking up modeling. She was later educated at the University of Oklahoma and majored in journalism, with a minor in Japanese and the dramatic arts. Soon, she pursued her passion in acting and thus settled in Los Angeles, California to establish her career.
Olivia Munn started out as an intern at Fox Sports Net in 2004. She was also a sideline reporter for college football and women's basketball, but was uncomfortable with the experience and so quit. She obtained a bit part in the horror flick Scarecrow Gone Wild, which went straight to video. The next year, she became known for portraying teen surfer Mily Acuna on The N's drama Beyond the Break. At that time, she appeared on The Road to Canyon Lake before moving to the G4 network. It was in April 2006 that she gained attention for co-hosting Attack of the Show! with Kevin Pereira. Later that year, she hosted the now-defunct Formula D and the online podcast Around the Net.
Soon, Olivia Munn obtained more significant roles on film and television. She was cast as Maria on Big Stan, starring alongside Rob Schneider. She next appeared as a competitor on the show Sasuke, as well as in the 2008 horror film Insanitarium. This was followed by roles in shows like Greek, Accidentally on Purpose and the films Date Night and Iron Man 2. In 2010, Munn was cast as Leigh on the NBC romantic comedy Perfect Couples, as well as becoming a correspondent for Comedy Central's The Daily Show. She even guest-starred on the series Chuck.
As a model, she has appeared on several magaiznes and is signed under campaings for Nike, Pepsi, Hewlett Packard and Neutrogina. She has even written her own book called "Suck It, Wonder Woman: The Misadventures of a Hollywood Geek," which was released on July 6, 2010.
