Built by Sverre Hansen, a pioneer in the Alaskan king crab fishery and the father of Sig, Edgar and Norman, the Northwestern became one of the first boats to fish for opilio crabs after the king crab catches collapsed. Crew members consist of Captain Sig Hansen, Deckboss/Engineer Edgar Hansen, Deckhand/Engineer Norman Hansen, Deckhand Nick Mavar, Deckhand Matt Bradley and Deckhand Jake Anderson.
