Nicole Tranquillo Biography:
Ever since she was 10 years old, Philadelphia native Nicole Tranquillo has been training to become a great female vocalist. A vocal major from the University of Arts, Nicole’s skills were put to the test when she auditioned in Memphis for season 6 of American Idol.
All of her training paid off and 20-year old Nicole became one of the 24 semi-finalists competing for a spot on the Final 12. She defines an American Idol as someone who possesses talent, displays humility and truly believes in the healing power of music. Aside from singing, she is also into hip-hop dancing and playing the piano and guitar. Her musical inspirations are Stevie Wonder, Justin Timberlake, Beyonce, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston and Alicia Keys. Her favorite American Idol judge is Paula.
Nicole Tranquillo was eliminated on the sixth season of American Idol on February 22, 2007, but continued to pursue music as a solo artist and as a group with her band Soulschool after her Idol stint. At present, she is focusing on her studies at the University of the Arts as a Vocal Performance major and will be graduating this coming May.
