Nicholas Ball was born on 11 April 1946 in Leamington, Warwickshire in England. Before landing the role of Garry Ryan on BBC’s Footballers’ Wives, he was best known for his work on the late `70’s series Hazell. He holds the distinction of having crossed over from the Footballers’ Wives spin off, Footballers’ Wives: Extra Time to the original series.
Garry Ryan, Nicholas Ball’s character on Footballers’ Wives, is the former frontman for Bedrock, the `70’s glam-rock band. After years living the rock and roll life of drugs and women, Garry is now a successful and ruthless business tycoon. Aside from owning Rampart Records, he has recently taken over chairmanship of Earl Park. Garry operates and manages his business ventures with the same cunning and interest as he does his women.
