Originally from Hayward, California, Nekisa knew at a young age what she wanted to do with life, as she attended beauty school while going to high school. At the tender age of 18, she graduated from the International Beauty Academy and proceeded to work as a stylist for various salons in the bay area. After a series of jobs with several salons, she finally settled in one called KellyAnn’s Salon and Day Spa in Pleasant Hills, California, where she now holds the rank of Master Stylist.
Nekisa felt the move to be independent so she moved to a salon called Contradictions in Lafayette, California, where she was picked to be an educator. In 2006, she finally realized her dream of opening her own salon, which she calls Beauty Boutique Salon. Her goal is simple enough, to make her clients feel and look magnificent.
Nekisa is one of the contestants in Bravo TV’s Shear Genius. This second season of the reality show features 12 gifted hairstylists from all over the country who vie for the ultimate title of ”Shear Genius.” It also looks at what happens behind the scenes of competitive high-end hair styling.
