English actor Matt Littler was born on March 19, 1982 in Bury, Lancashire. A cast member of the long-running British soap opera Hollyoaks since 1996, he became known for playing Max Cunningham on the series. His character has He’s grown through the years from a happy-go-lucky and rude young teenager into a thoughtful and responsible young man. Though he once tried to become a successful musical comedy act with his best friend OB and his father Gordon, the first single they recorded failed to become a hit. Around this time, Max was also influenced by the death of his sister Dawn due to leukemia. He then goes through a string of troubles, such as his parents also dying in a car crash, but slowly copes and eventually becomes co-owner of The Loft along with OB.
Later on, Matt Littler decided to leave the show together with his on-screen best friend, OB, played by Darren Jeffries. Littler’s character died in June of 2008, but the actor returned to wrap up the character’s departure. He grew to be one of the longest running characters on Hollyoaks, even winning an award for his performance. At the 2008 British Soap Awards, Matt won 'Best On-Screen Partnership' with Jeffries. He was also nominated for Best Actor during the 2006 British Soap Awards. He revealed later on that he would return to direct a few episodes of the series.
Other than Hollyoaks, Matt Littler appeared on the BBC reality show Only Fools on Horses, riding the horse named Fibi. In 2007, he got a role in Neil Carroll’s For King and Country. Another appearance of his was in Children’s Ward, early on in his career. Littler has also tried his hand directing an independent short film titled KIDNAP. He also wrote the film, as well as starred in a minor role. KIDNAP won 'Best International Short Thriller' at the New York Film Festival.
