Born on June 26, 1970 in Grosse Pointe, Michigan, Matt Letscher was educated at the University of Michigan. He soon pursued a career in acting and debuted professionally at Jeff Daniels' Purple Rose Theater in Chealsea, Michigan, where he was part of the production, The Tropical Pickle. From there, he was cast in Turner Films' Civil War epic, Gettysburg, after he was discovered by director Ron Maxwell. In 1993, Letscher moved to Los Angeles and took his acting career to new heights. He became part of films such as Straight-Jacket, Identity, Gods and Generals, Madison, Supersucker, Lovelife, The Mask of Zorro and Alan Ball's Nothing is Private with Toni Collette. He also worked on television series such as Good Morning Miami, FOX's Living in Captivity and CBS' Almost Perfect. Letscher also appeared on TNT's King of Texas, ABC's The Beach Boys: An American Family and NBC's Jackie, Ethel and Joan: Women of Camelot. His recent work include those in

Nathan Stone is played by Matt Letscher on ABC's Eli Stone. A neurologist, Nathan is the brother of Eli Stone, a successful lawyer who suddenly gets odd hallucinations. Eli then turns to Nathan for medical help, but the two soon find out that his Eli's hallucinations are brought about by an inoperable brain aneurysm, which was also experienced by their father. Moreover, Eli soon realizes that he is meant for greater things, and soon begins his path to self rediscovery.
Letscher is set to currently star as Tom Bradshaw in the new CW series
The Carrie Diaries.
