Biography

Born on October 15, 1972 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Matt Keeslar graduated from Adrian High School in Adrian, Michigan in 1991. He the moved to New York City to pursue his dreams and went on to go to the prestigious Julliard School for the next three years, figuring out that his blond good looks was not enough to do well in show business. After formal training at Julliard, he landed his first film opposite great Susan Sarandon in the 1994 film Safe Passage. That same year, he appeared in two more movies, Renaissance Man and Quiz Show. After a string of small roles, Matt Keeslar finally landed his first lead role as Albert Finney’s estranged son in the 1995 movie The Run of the country.

All of his performances received favorable reviews but Matt Keeslar still did not attract a lot of mainstream attention. His first movies were followed by a string of mediocre productions, such as The Stupids and Mr. Magoo. Other than the mainstream movies, Keeslar also starred in high-profile independent films such as Waiting for Guffman and Sour Grapes. Finally, in 1998, Keeslar achieved mainstream popularity via The Last Days of Disco, where he was cast as an early 1980s yuppie lawyer. After that, Keeslar appeared in another string of otherwise forgettable pictures, such as Thanks of a Grateful Nation, Splendor, and Scream 3.

Matt Keeslar also plays the lead role of The Middleman in the ABC series of the same name. The Middleman follows a struggling artist as he is recruited by a secret agency to fight against evil forces. The Middleman is the straight-laced hero helped out by Wendy Watson. He is not your typical hero as he never swears and he always has a glass of “cow squirt” on hand. According to the show’s creator, Keeslar got the role a few years ago when he delivered a monologue about lady and the Tramp in The Last Days of Disco.
