Biography

American actor Mark Feuerstein was born on June 8, 1971 in New York City. Though most of the members of his family are lawyers, he somehow bucked the trend: after being a wrestler during his high school years, he graduated from Princeton University in Elizabeth, New Jersey in 1993. He later earned a full scholarship to the London School of Dramatic Arts, and also took up training in France.

Feuerstein got his start in acting in 1995, when he got a role in the daytime soap Loving. The show folded up in 1996, and he then joined the cast of the comedy Caroline in the City. He then appeared in the first of his string on unsuccessful series: the short-lived sitcom Fired Up, which first aired in 1997, was canceled in the middle of the second season.

Feuerstein’s television career continued to be marked by short-lived series: Conrad Bloom; The Heart Department; Good Morning Miami, where he played the lead role of executive producer Jake Silvers, and more recently, 3 lbs, where he played neurosurgeon protege Jonathan Seger.

Feuerstein made his film debut in 1998, when he starred alongside Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman in the fantasy film Practical Magic. Among his other films are What Women Want, Rules of Engagement, Woman on Top, and In Her Shoes. He also played guest roles in shows like The West Wing, The Closer, Law & Order, Once and Again, Ally McBeal, Sex and the City and Shark. At presents he stars as Hank on the TV series Royal Pains.
