Born on November 4, 1980 in Providence, North Carolina as Marcy Faith Behrens, actress Marcy Rylan is best known for portraying Lizzie Spaulding on the soap opera, Guiding Light. She completed a two-year acting program at William Esper Studio and has been completing her college education while pursuing her acting career part time. She graduated from Tyrone High School in 1999 and later became roommates with actresses Mandy Bruno and Alexandra Chando while in New York.
The blonde actress has been in the entertainment industry for several years. In 2006, she roes to fame as the lead role in the cheerleading film, Bring It On: All or Nothing, the third installment in the movie series. There, she co-starred with Heroes’ star Hayden Panettiere, who also played the part of Lizzie on Guiding Light from 1996 to 2000.
Marcy Rylan later landed a guest role on the Nickelodeon comedy series, Drake and Josh, on the episode “We’re Married.” It was after that that she joined the cast of the CBS soap, Guiding Light, taking over the role of Lizzie from Crystal Hunt. Her character grew up in an unstable and difficult environment where she was forced to go through a chaotic and traumatic childhood and adolescence. The actress was pre-nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award for the role, in the category Outstanding Younger Actress. Rylan also appeared on several national commercials and on a low-budget independent feature. This was Armageddon for Andy, and she portrayed the popular Bethany Hopkins.
Aside from acting, Rylan is fond of dancing, yoga and Pilates. She also enjoys going horseback riding and hiking in her spare time. This animal lover hopes to own a llama someday, and is a fan of Kate Winslet and Chris Cooper. Rylan has also developed a passion for community service, usually volunteering frequently for NY Cares and LA Works.
