Singer-songwriter, keyboardist and backing vocalist Lucy Walsh was born on December 3, 1983 in Santa Barbara, California. She is the daughter of Eagle’s guitarist Joe Walsh. Lucy was just five years old when she started playing the piano. She says that she has enough siblings to start an entire rock group. Lucy is also a pre-professional ballerina and was always active in the field of performing arts. She studied at the Waldorf School.
When she reached 18, Lucy Walsh decided to bring her love of music to a higher level. She left her Malibu home and moved to Hollywood and contacted other young musicians. She became friends with pop rock singer Ashlee Simpson and sang back-up vocals for Ashlee on her Autobiography tour.
Her dad encouraged her to start a career on her own and often told her that if she wanted to be a musician, he was not going to make any calls or pull any favors to get her a record deal. Lucy started writing her own songs and studied voice, classical piano and music theory with a private teacher. As of press time, she has written and co-written around 70 songs and has worked with Island Def Jam artists.

She also appeared in the music video of The Click Five’s song “Catch Your Wave.”
Lucy looks up to Sarah McLachlan, Tori Amos, Enya and Cyndi Lauper.
Lucy Walsh is one of the nine contestants on MTV’s reality talent search Rock the Cradle, wherein the offspring of pop and rock stars compete to prove that the talent is in their genes. Lucy believes that music should not only awe fans, but also express universal experiences and inspire others to pursue their dreams. “Those who get into this business for the fame are in for a bumpy ride, and probably a short one. If you are not passionate about the music, you have no right being here, because it's a lot of hard work! I've planned for this moment for the past twenty years of my life!"
