Lisa Tucker
Lisa Gabrielle Tucker was born on June 13, 1989 in Tokyo, Japan. Her parents moved the family to the United States when Lisa was very young. She grew up in Anaheim, California with her two older brothers, Billy and Trilly, Jr. She publicly displayed her talent in singing when she was eight years old, but claims to have started singing at the tender age of two. She has had formal training in singing, but also plays different instruments, namely the piano, guitar and the drums. Songwriting has also caught her interest. Her favorite type of music is rock and roll while her favorite artists are Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, John Legend, Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson.
Lisa went from her hometown to Denver in order to audition for season 5 of American Idol. At 16, she was the youngest female Finalist in the Top 12. During the semifinals, she was constantly criticized for choosing songs that were a bit too mature for her. Nevertheless, her talent gained her enough votes to enter the Finals. On the first week, the judges praised her rendition of Stevie Wonder's "Signed, Sealed, Delivered (I'm Your's)," but she found herself a part of the Bottom 3. She did not go home that night, but her performance the following week was not as well-received. Again, despite being on the Bottom 3, she did not go home. Finally, the end of Lisa's journey came in the third week, when she sang first American Idol winner
Kelly Clarkson 's Because of You.
Simon did not like the way Lisa performed the song, and remarked that it was the wrong song choice. The following night, Lisa became the third finalist to be voted off season 4.
Since appearing in the show, Lisa has gone on to do perform in several events around the city of Anaheim, including stints at the Mayor's Prayer Breakfast, Flag Day events and an Anaheim Angels baseball game. She also took on a guest role in the popular teen drama,
The O.C . In 2006, she graduated from John F. Kennedy High School and currently has plans of attending Cal State Fullerton. She is also filming episodes for
Nickelodeon's Zoey 101 .
