American actress Lesli Kay was born on June 13, 1965 in Charleston, West Virginia. She moved with her family to New York City when she was 15 years old to pursue a modeling career. She then took the plunge to acting, making her debut in an episode of Hunter in 1991. She spent her early years as an actress appearing on television shows as a guest, and later in films—Forbidden Games, Deadly Charades, Petticoat Planet and Guarded Secrets, among others.
In 1997, Kay joined the cast of the daytime soap As the World Turns. She originated the role of Molly Conlan, a villainous character who works as a news anchor and personality at television station WOAK. Despite her tendencies, viewers were later endeared to her character, especially when a storyline involving a romance with Jake McKinnon (Tom Eplin) was introduced. This role earned her a Daytime Emmy for Best Drama Supporting Actress in 2001. Three years later, frustrated over the status of her character, she left ATWT and moved to another soap, General Hospital. She briefly took the role of agent Lois Cerullo; she was quickly put to recurring status and was dropped form the soap altogether in 2005.
In 2005, Kay joined the cast of The Bold and the Beautiful, inheriting the role of Felicia Forrester from Colleen Dion-Scotti. The black sheep of the Forrester family, her tenure in the role saw her “die” of colon cancer, and upon returning, fight for custody of her son Dino (Eric and Jacob Steinberger). The writers originally planned to kill her off, but petitions and letters from fans compelled them to twist the story and keep her alive. The role earned her another Daytime Emmy nomination in 2007.
In 2008, Kay’s character was transferred from B&B to its sister soap, The Young and the Restless.
