Nine-year-old Leila from North Carolina aspires to enter University Of North Carolina at Chapel Hill one day and eventually become an orthopedic doctor. She admires Hannah Montana and enjoys watching America's Next Top Model. Her favorite artists are Miley Cyrus, Lindsay Lohan, Hilary and Haley Duff, Zack Efron and Corbin Bleu. Leila believes that global warming is a serious problem which needs to be addressed and that Bush was wrong in sending too many young soldiers to the war in Iraq.
Leila is one of 40 kids aged 8 to 15 to participate in NBC's Kid Nation. The reality series sends them to Bonanza City, New Mexico to establish their own community with governance and economy while engaging in games that would determine their status in the small society. Every three days, a town meeting will be held to talk about issues and problems, and to honor a kid who has shown maturity and excellence by awarding him or her a gold star worth $20,000.
