Layana Aguilar



Layana Aguilar grew up in Brazil, where her family showered her with lots of love and affection. Upon coming to America, she landed her very first job at Costco in the bakery department. After four years, she moved to NYC and transferred to FIT. While attending fashion school, she volunteered for New York Fashion Week and simultaneously landed several internships with labels like Wes Gordon, Carlos Campos, Rachel Roy, Marchesa and Oscar de la Renta. Prior to that, Layana also studied fashion design for two years at Katharine Gibbs College in Connecticut.

Layana also competed on Project Runway season 11 but was eliminated in the final challenge just before the finale. In 2016, she joined Project Runway: All Stars season 5, where she finished in 7th place.



Fun Facts

She likes working with leather and chiffon.
She loves to dance.


She won the Hilton Hollis Award when she graduated from FIT.
