From designing pajamas at the age of eight, Laura Kathleen has since pursued her career and developed her craft. She has always wanted to work in fashion design, even working as a teacher. However, she started getting recognized for her designs back in school. She also held a job as event coordinator/executive of softline for Target. She soon found herself auditioning for Project Runway and became a contestant in season 9 as one of 20 designers hoping to make it big in the industry. She finished 5th in the competition.

In 2012, Laura made her reality TV comeback as one of the contestants of Project Runway All Stars season 2.
