Receiving her first tattoo at age sixteen, Kim Saigh began her apprenticeship in the art two years later in Cleveland, Ohio. She later moved to Chicago to work with Guy Aitchison at Guilty & Innocent Productions. In 1999, Saigh opened her own tattoo shop named Cherry Bomb Tattoo in Wicker Park in Chicago. A yoga enthusiast and practitioner, she applies her love for yoga into her art, simulating allegorical and illustrative art work that exemplify movement and flow. Her inspirations include fairy tales, iconographic images, mythical imagery, world religions and nature.
Kim Saigh became known as one of five known tattoo artists featured on LA Ink, Miami Ink
's spin off. Here, Kim joined established tattoo artist Kat Von D as she manages her own shop, High Voltage Tattoo. Together, they had to make it through their unending line of clients each day, and keep a good, working relationship with each other. Since the series, she has taken up a job at Memoir Tattoo in Los Angeles.
