American actress Kim Raver was born on March 15, 1969 in New York City. She began her acting career at an early age, first appearing in the long-running children’s program Sesame Street when she was six years old. She left the show three years later, after which she trained her eye on the stage, joining the first off-off-Broadway children’s theater. She then took up a fine arts degree in Boston University, where she eventually graduated.
Raver’s passion for acting never left her, as she quickly proceeded to launch an acting career as an adult. After appearing in television commercials, she made her big break on Broadway, performing alongside Laura Linney and Tony Goldwyn in the play Holiday. After several guest roles on television, she signed on to do a regular role in the drama Third Watch. She became known to audiences as Kim Zambrano, a paramedic with the FDNY whose unstable childhood continued to affect her adult life. Her next major television role came in 2004, when she joined the cast of 24 as Audrey Raines, an inter-agency liaison for the Department of Defense who was assigned to the CTU unit in Los Angeles. She continued appearing in films, lending her talents to features like Martin & Orloff, Keep Your Distance and Night at the Museum.
Raver also had a role in the short-lived serial drama The Nine. The series, which revolves around nine people whose lives were linked together by a bank robbery, sees her play Kathryn Hale, an assistant district attorney who was in the bank with her mother when the heist happened. She has also gained fame for her role on the NBC drama Lipstick Jungle, an adaptation of the novel of Sex and the City originator Candace Bushnell. Kim Raver plays successful New York magazine editor Nico Reilly, who looks for a boost in her love life after her unsuccessful marriage.
